Recycled envelope mail art journal collage

3 Flares 3 Flares ×

Anyone who knows mail artists or makes mail art, knows we love the insides of all those security envelopes.  Great patterns make for wonderful collages and work well in the making for other mail art itself.  I myself like the cellophane windows to use in collage as you will see in the page below.  And of course some wonderful stamps from the stash.

I even used a bit of security envelope to make a tiny letter and added a stamp.

An intersection of patterns.

  15. Clever to use postage pieces to make a postage collage.
I like the little tree stamp.

  16. I often use security envelopes in my art. I sew them into my scrappy journals and use my mists to color them. Of course, I have never used them as backgrounds, so I really must try that. Your AJJ piece has given me a big clue as to something I’ve struggled with. You are ALWAYS a great inspiration. And of course, I love the overall piece you made, too. Truly lovely art.

  17. The use of the envelopes are great Corrine, and your art pieces pages are so beautiful-love it.
Mathilde is here with us, and sson arrives her father and brother, so not much time for blogging, but I will be back, meeting you here 🙂 xo

  18. Very cool! I don’t get security envies, because I’ve gotten myself of ALL junk mail lists over the years. Have a great weekend. xo
