Mad Mod Stitch

Mad sewing today.  Destash of some painted canvas and scraps into some pillows for the studio.  Mad, and a bit of mod stitch.

I made the bottom two to go along with my moonpie face.

Unwrapped the Erosion Bundle as well.  Not thrilling results since I did not start until January and did not have too much natural material to put into it.  Still some nice rust marks here and there.  Next year I shall try again, might even bury a bundle in the compost pile this summer!!! That should get some action.  Anyway, here’s a few photos so you can see what’s what.  Not too much mold thankfully.  Just going to have to let it all dry out.

Happy Easter and Passover everyone.

Interesting bundle. I can relate to mad; a little insanity is an absolute requirement.

  3. love your colorful stitching! As for being mad —
“But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat: “we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice.
“You must be,” said the Cat, “or you wouldn’t have come here.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

I’m not sure what an erosion bundle is but I’m going to investigate it.

  4. A bit of insanity is not necessarily a bad thing, Corrine! Artists often do their best work when they are a bit mad, now, don’t they? Great bundle here, and I love your pillows!

How you do have such wonderful, colorful ideas!!!
The middle pillow has sweet ruffles, too!

  6. I adore that bit of blue that got onto the wash cloth. And rust always gets my heart pounding. You have some nice pieces there.

  7. Those pillows are just adorable And oh so colorful. Fun bundle… drive over it with your truck too. Lol.

  8. great pillows, they make me smile! Your erosion bundle didn’t erode very much. I had the same results my first bundle and I just wrapped it up and put it back out but the next time I remembered to check it it was mostly gone. I salvaged a few bits. There are things I’d do differently next time.

  9. Ooo! Love your studio pillows! Also I’d love to try one of those bundles but don’t really know the details of how. Very cool!

  10. Amazing studio pillows Corinne.. GORGEOUS!

  12. Your pillows are lovely and cheerful. I put my erosion bundles out a bit late too. One is drying out in the conservatory and the other is still outside but I will bring it in today and have a look at both. You have some lovely rust marks in yours.

  13. love the pillow of circles! I’m in a circle mode again! I’LL HAVE TO TRY AN EROSION BUNDLE HERE IN FLA. GUESS I COULD DO IT ANY TIME OF YEAR BUT MAYBE WONT MILDEW IN THE WINTER SEASON!.

first: i can´t stop laughing about your moonface pillow with that wonderful HAIR!! gorgeous!! and i love how you paint your fabrics. it is also on top of my to-do list, especially trying the gelli plate on it and carved stamps.
then the bündle: completely after my taste… do you wash out the traces of rust after that (i suppose flying rusty parts affect everything?)… i think i wouldn´t dare to dig it in the compost, but i´m looking Forward to your results.
    wonderful post, corrinne!!

  16. Those pillows are YUM!
I actually like the erosion bundle. Really interesting!

  17. Your pillows are such rays of sunshine and so colorful!
I had such fun with Seth’s erosion project a few years ago and really meant to get going on more bundles…good for you and not sure what it is about rust but it always thrills me.
My father would turn over in his grave if he knew I was intentionally trying to rust things when he spent his whole life keeping things spiffy and rust free 😉
