Gelli Plate frenzy going on this past weekend.  I got the new round one and used that for a while, but wanted to go back to my big plate, where I can really get messy and just print until I am exhausted and can’t wield those big 20×28 sheets any more…So Sunday morning before dawn – that darkest hour, you know, when the coffee is hot and strong and I am the only one awake, I got my Gelli mojo going. I used a whole bunch of StencilGirl stencils just playing around…A big need to re-stash, is that a word?  Well that’s what I did because my printed supply was gone baby, so gone. If you are interested in what I used, the whole list is below after the photos.  My faves were overprinting over metallic black tempura paint that was already on some sheets, ghostly and good. The prints on recycled tyvek envelopes came out great too, nice and crisp. But they all filled my soul with pure joy.  I am a monoprinting maniac, it moves so much energy in a good way because my WHOLE body is in it….kind of like a dance.  Click on any of the photos to make them bigger…

  1. LOVE the Gelli plate….but I need MUCH more time.

  2. What fun! You have some great stencils to use. 20×28? Is your gelli plate that size or just your paper? That is pretty big. As soon as I have my quilt off my table I might have to break out my gelli plate again. It is the six inch size one. Is bigger better????

  3. I would love to own a Gelli plate. I keep asking for one for Christmas, and this will be the third year I’ve asked, but no one has ever taken me seriously.

I’m curious about your tyvek. Every envelope I get has that red “priority mail” stamped on it now. I haven’t gotten any that wasn’t made by USPS in a long time, so it’s hard to recycle them using paint. I need a good way to paint them, but Ive never found anything that doesn’t chip off after a few days (or hours). Any advice would be gladly welcome.

  4. What a fun early (very early) morning for you, my friend! I have several favorites as I scrolled up and down (more than once, mind you), but my A-#-1 is definitely the yellow and orange leaf pattern! I have a project for today, but, when I get the decks cleared, I am going to make more Gellies!

  5. Luscious prints – great patterns and colors. You are magical with the Gelli plate and stencils! xxoo

  6. Corrine, wish I could stay home today and play.. so inspiring! However, work is calling…

  7. Loving the Gelli on the black- I don’t use black that often but I may need to rethink that after seeing such great papers here!

  8. Super! I like the black too maybe because its almost Halloween!

  10. OH I love the two multiprinted ones on top, such gorgeous colours, showing the patterns ,so beautifully off, Corrine. I can see you dancing to and fro, to make those fantastic prints with your plate. I hope I can soon start using mine .

  16. Wow – LOVE those gellis…..I’m so inspired to get mine out again. I was thinking about it yesterday but got busy making mail art. Watching Seahawks now (OMG they’re losing 🙁 ) but as soon as the game’s over, I think it’s time to try gelli again.
