StencilGirl meets Xyron meets Re-Use

9 Flares 9 Flares ×

You all know how I love to re-use things. Re-cycle, re-use, re-charge my creativity.  So when I had a chance to play with StencilGirl and Xyron together, re-use was the order of the day.  I started with some kraft bags from the savings stash.

IMG_9742Coffee plays a big part in our house as you can see. Ha Ha….

I selected three stencils that I wanted to use in this project. Maria MaGuire’s Stitch A Doily , Daniella Wolff’s S-curve stencil and her Word Play stencil.  I gelli printed several big 20×28 sheets with acrylic paints and sprays and went in with markers to high light certain areas.

IMG_9745Now I was ready for that creative re-use.  I grabbed some punches and also tore the papers to fit the bags I had selected.

Using the new Xyron high tack double sided tape and Xyron glue dots– which you can see below, I set up getting everything ready.  These new dispensers make it really easy to disburse the tape and glue dots.  I had fun just getting it all ready.

I  then adhered my papers to the kraft bags. Some elements of the original bag were worth keeping, but I wanted to hide the logos and make these sweet gift bags.

A bit of ribbon, and a cute paperclip and we are ready for some gift giving. Have a birthday coming up?

The StencilGirl Team is blog hopping all week, be sure to visit Janet Joehlin today to see what she created with her glue dots, tape and stencils too.

These bags turned out great! It is so nice to have some on hand for last minute gift-giving isn’t it? My hubby tells me I am a hoarder because I always keep all my bags to re-use. I even let people know that if they do not want to keep them I will take them home. He gets so upset but I just can’t let them go to waste! LOL Thanks for the inspiration!
