Be Careful What You Wish For

Be careful what you wish for…

be careful what you wish forit may not be what you expect.

It’s great to throw wishes on the wind. Bring intention to the forefront.  Ask for what you want, or at least you think you want.  Sometimes we get our wishes, just not always in the form we expect.  I like to think of it as a bit of the spiritual twist of fate.  We think we want something, put it out there and ask for it, then go, uh oh, too much, too little, overwhelming, disappointing.  You know that moment when you go aha, that’s exactly….well, maybe not…

I have had this happen to me a few times when I put it out there and got way more than I bargained for and have decidedly changed my tune, singing low and sweet and mindfully.  Perhaps that comes with age, with getting slapped up side the head one too many times, but when I put a wish out into the stars now, I am prepared for anything…..

  1. I’ve been told I’m brutally honest, so I can personally relate to the message you put out there this morning.

Hope you are having fun in Texas.

  2. I so get this! Hope your Texas experience is all that you expected and more! Thinking of you always! Love ya – Marilyn

  3. Hell yeah!!!!!!!! Beautifully expressed sweetie, and oh so true. I am a strong believer in fate and I also tend to have more spiritualistic beliefs rather than religious ones so I totally understand where you are coming from.
Huge hugs and I hope Texas is looking after you.

  5. Hello Corrine, great mixed media piece and soulful message! So right too, keep life simple and sweet is what I say.
    Ciao bella xx

  6. Love this page…I heartily agree with you too :)

  7. Can you ever have too much time?

  8. isn’t that the truth… love the page and the texture from the cardboard coming through the hand in really cool…

  9. Wishes, dreams, expectations, hopes – all a tangled web of not-quite-happy-with-things-as-they-are. We all have them but it kind of falls into the “I wish it was tomorrow” or “I wish the work day was over” place….my mom used to tell me I was wishing my life away. Now, older and wiser, I see the truth to that and really what she was saying is to live in the moment. That’s what I try to do …. plan when necessary, dream a bit as I fall asleep, but mostly, live in the moment. (kind of wandered off topic a bit, but that’s how my brain followed this thought…. :)

  10. Good point — very true, I think. Sometimes we wish for things only to find out they don’t live u to our expectations or hopes. But it is good to find that out, don’t you think?

  11. I recognize your reach for the star girl from my old French storybook! I hope that your lucky star that you reached for aligns with your wishes. been thinking of you as I go through my experience here with my art filled days.xoxo

  12. Nancy Lee says:

Love the little girl reaching for her star!
My grandmother told me becareful what you wish for, you might get it!

  13. this is so so true!

  14. I have to admit that my husband has advised me…the best way to get what you want is to ask for it. He claims he is not a mind reader! But, some days I think it would be nice to have a wish granted that was never even uttered! I love how you work through what’s inside to get the art to come outside, Corrine! This one is great…almost “readable.” Mwah!

  15. Can’t wait to read about your wishes manifested last week!

  16. this is so on point for me today. Thank you for this beautiful insight coupled with gorgeous colors and composition.
