Keeping memories, special personal totems using Andrew Borloz’s Crossed Rounds and Squares Stencil L159 from StencilGirl Products

IMG_8505

I wanted to create something a little different than a journal page and my inspiration board was getting way too crowded.  So I culled that board for highly personal photos, quotes, cards and objects to put on a new smaller inspirational tack board I could look at every day to remind me of what is important in life.  The project started with a bit of gelli printing with acrylics directly on fabric with lots of color and the Crossed Rounds and Squares Stencil L159.

Using simple cardboard from a box, some batting and the fabric I made up a tack board.  Staples and wonky hand stitching on the corners created a secure base. I had appliqued  a vintage flower doily. Stitched on some lace ribbon and colorful buttons.  Braided strips of the fabric for a rustic hanger and the tack board was complete.  Full of light and color and things I love, I can now see it every day when I begin creating.

The step out photo collage is below(you can click on the photos to make them larger) and be sure to visit the other StencilGirl Creative Team members to see their creations with this graphic and versatile stencil. Luckily I saved some fabric to use for other projects…..

Hope you enjoyed this project, now hop on over and visit the team, I am sure you will be as amazed as I am at how many different projects you will see.  Enjoy…
