Friday Affirmations — Sometimes the answer

11 Flares 11 Flares ×

sometimes the answer is right under your noseHave you ever been searching for something?  The grass is greener, the sky is bluer, the clouds are fluffier and money grows on trees.  Well lately the superhero and I have been contemplating adventure and what our future might hold and where that might be and what it might be and we both realized – simultaneously- thankfully, that the answer was right under our noses….I stood on my bitsy porch the other day and looked at my garden and realized I am living my dream right where my feet are planted.  The grass (well moss) is greener, the sky is bluer, the clouds are amazing and the stars can be seen because there is no light pollution.  Coyotes howl, owls call, deer graze and birds flit by.  A wild chaos exists that entices us and make us feel nurtured and whole.  So the answer to the question — sometimes the answer IS right under your nose.

And for that I feel truly blessed.

  1. This is exactly how I feel when I look out my back door, isn’t it wonderful? The sound of the brook running into the bay at the front of the house is magical, a dream, my oasis. I don’t have Coyotes tho!

  2. There is nothing more satisfying than to know that you are exactly where you want to be. Bless you.

  3. what a lovely feeling!

  4. There’s something deeply satisfying with being thankful and content with exactly what you have and where you are.

  5. I only started experiencing this relatively late in life- “I am living my dream right where my feet are planted” – having suffered from depression on and off for many years. I am so grateful that I now recognise the magic that’s always there but often hidden.

  6. Amen to that! And you’re right it’s a blessing that you both came to that conclusion at the same time. I’m so glad for you!

  7. When asked why I don’t vacation during the summer I point to my yard and woods and ask “Why would I go anywhere when i live in Rivendell?”

It took seeing this area through friends eyes to become aware and thankful for what we have.

  8. I love this post Corrine and know it to be true. It is so easy to get caught up in what seems like the “dream” life and neglect what gifts we already have. Your post was such a perfect compliment to this day, a few days before Mother’s Day. How lucky I have been to have such good grandmothers, a wonderful mother, and the joy of having my own babies to love. Have a great Mother’s Day weekend and thanks again for your lovely post.

  9. How wonderful to realize the gift of life in it’s beautiful form (right under your nose)!
