A Face for Lisa

Lisa Graham is a painter whose style really inspires me to want to paint faces.  Her people are so expressive, stylishly dressed in fabulous clothes of Lisa’s own mind and have whimsical and complicated personalities.  Her work is honest and true to her vision and I really admire that about her.  I suspect she is also a really great person and would love it if I didn’t live so far away – Massachusetts to Kansas is a long way to go for a cup of coffee.  Recently she painted some pink hair on one of her bold women.  I hadn’t been in the studio for days, so today I was determined to spend some time painting and the thought of doing a painting in my own style as an homage to Lisa’s inspiration seemed to spring from my fingers.  So here she is, orange hair and all, a face for Lisa.

  2. you inspired me to go into my studio today.
