Mojo Glue Stick: Pasting, Doodling, and Writing Silly Journal Pages

3 Flares 3 Flares ×

I have been moved to simplify, occupy and play.  There is so much going on in our household at the moment.  Mr. Ryder had his neutering surgery and he is one unhappy camper and in need of serious attention while he recoups. Hence, serious creativity is OFF the table, as if it ever was, but heck, I like to think that some times I get serious, ah well, you all know better don’t you.

Yes, I had to trim up the cone, but his look about says it all don’t you think?

So onto the pasting, doodling and writing silly parts.  I needed mindless distraction so thankfully my journal provided with sweet satisfaction.

An ode to the right hand, silly writing and all.

Mindless(mindful?) cut and paste, an exercise in non-thinking joy , a take off on the word nest just because…got my mojo glue stick working and it sure feels good to me. A take off on “Got My Mojo Working” , Muddy Waters version, click on the link below to hear it.

  1. awwwww – poor puppy! Give him some TLC from me.

  2. I’d say that’s some pretty serious JOYFUL art work going on!
The poor pooch, however, has that look of “What have you DONE to me???” Hopefully the cone-of-shame won’t have to be on too long.
And as I write this, I am laughing inside because those cones look so darned funny…not nice Anne! Not nice!

  3. Poor doggy …..
    Lovely mindless work Corinne!!
    Hugs 😉

  4. Kimbucha says:

A doleful coneful doggie for sure.
Putting words on paper. That can be a stretching exercise for someone like me. How did it feel to you? I think crossing from mind to mindless would be a fine line when you’re employing writing. The inner critic in me would want to judge the words, the aesthetic… but it sounds as if you allowed yourself to get past that.
    xoxo Kim

  5. Yes–play music loud and have fun. (Poor doggy)

  6. your right hand list is great. Ryder’s sweet face is just pathetic. wishing him a speedy recovery!

  7. Love the Ode to your right hand!! I have planned an Ode to my left hand for years with that title and all; great minds do think alike, don’t they.
Poor little doggie. Hope he’s feeling better soon!

  8. What fun work you are doing! I can hardly call it work, looks like play. Poor puppy! a cone head for awhile but it is necessary I know. This post brightened up my day, thanks for sharing. I don’t need to click your link, I can hear that song in my head!

  9. Love your intuitive collaging – I too love to do that, as you know. and all that splatter and blotching in your hand is just……well, so darn playful. Thanks for the reminder to not take ourselves so seriously all the time!

  10. Awwww! Poor Mr Ryder looks soooo sorry for himself. I love your free play, especially the hand. I love your fun tribute to your ‘other’ hand.

  11. heal up well, mr. ryder!

    Excellent play, there, Momma !
    Enjoy the mind-free stuff.
    Happy Thursday !

  12. poor pooch – the cone of shame 🙁

    fun journal pages!

  13. Poor ol’ Ryder. : (

Your playful pages are wonderful. But did I read that correctly…you DON’T like peanut butter??? Huh? : )

Love the pretty nest page. It’s much more peaceful to look at than the Blue Jays that woke me at 6 this morning because they were screaming at each other.

  14. What a great journal idea- to honor and notice the usually unnoticed! I am sure your right hand appreciates all the creative goodness in your journal spread here! Hope the pup heals quickly!

  15. First, I think I FINALLY got the link to your web site/blog right. It took three times, but I’m pretty sure it’s where it should be now. My copying (web address) skills are about as pathetic as Ryder’s expression.

I love, love the hand page. It is wonderful and so very clever. Humor is always fun to see and appreciate.

  16. Fabulous, funny, joyful art. Love the right hand and the nest.

  17. Sending healing thoughts to pup…..and kisses! Your work always exudes joy and happiness! These are absolutely refreshing and beautiful!

  18. My hubby just had the same unfortunate surgery! He did not come home wearing the cone, but did need lots of attention. 🙂

    Love the collaging!
