Split Thinking

Today I had the house to myself
(except for the dogs, which is the usual).
No other humans because everyone had
somewhere else to go, except me, yippee…

I had a date, a date with the paint.
I cut, I ripped, I pasted(as all good
keeper’s of the paste should),I wove
and I painted. I worked on multiple
things at once, moving pieces around
the kitchen counter to dry like a
pinwheel in the wind.

I used brushes, old plastic cards,
the palette knife and my hands.
Moved paint around, smushed fingerprints
in, slapped glitter on.

I haven’t had this much time and this
much fun in eight weeks.  Even the dogs
cooperated, all seven of them, napping
frequently and expecting less.

The gods were kind, the muses visited
briefly and wily coyote left a telltale
trail.  Even the hawks serenaded me
while I played.

Split thinking my brain going off
in so many directions, I’ll share this one.

  2. That is one glorious piece of art, Corrine! You can never go wrong with oranges and purples, can you.
An alone-day sounds perfect, and you have put those hours into impressing productivity. I'm afraid I would find myself staring at the TV if I should get a few hours alone…

it is so wonderful to have the place all to your self. Right I'm all by my lonesome. My hubby is away this morning and I am here catching up on things. No noise no talking just me and the cat sitting on my table napping away. I could here his soft snore and the birds out side. It's raining and gloomy and it's perfect so quiet!

I had a comment all written up for you yesterday but the dial-up gods rejected it.
    back for a revisit today-
It wasn't until I noticed the clothespins that I realized the scale of the hanging piece. I thought it was quilt-sized at first!

    T I M E ….S P A C E…..P A I N T = B L I S S !

I'm back to sharing days at home with my husband since his work has ended for the season, a bit of an adjustment as he seems to have ideas as to how I should be spending my day! ๐Ÿ™‚ Luckily he'll be hunting soon and I'll be left to my artistic devices again.
